I am in the process of recaulking several areas on my rubber roof. Caulk removal went well until I got to one of the corners of the roof. Whatever kind of caulk that was used on this corner has been a pain to get off. I have even used Goo Gone trying to get this stuff off. I have got most of it off except for a layer that looks like it has become part of the roof. I have heard you can Dicor over old caulk as long as it is clean, but the instructions on Dicor says not to use vertically. I wonder if the geocell 2350 can be applied over old caulk as well?

Was the camper "new to you"?

If there was a previous repair and Silicone caulk was used instead of DICOR, you could have a problem there.

Does scotch tape stick to the caulk? If it doesn't, it's silicone. Nothing but another silicone sealant will stick to it. (I'm a former commercial caulking contractor)
You won't be able to get it all off, either.
