Cleaning roof

My camper[Rockwood 1910] has been uncovered for a year. I have tried to keep it clean, but the textured roof leaves thousands of tiny places for black stuff to accumulate. I have scrubbed and scrubbed with a good RV soap and semi soft brushes, and still have some black crap that is a PITA to remove.

The question is What is the best way to clean a dirty roof. I take it that bleach is a no no.
Yep, I should have covered the roof but I didn't.

You might try a mild mix of bleach, soap and water but I'd do it on a very small spot and see what happened. What you have might be a slight bit of mildew.

Agreed- Clorox clean up would be perfect and probably under one of your sinks already.

I used a stiff nylon brush to scrub the roof with auto soap.

I don't know what kind of roof you have with your camper, but be aware that the roof manufacturers have their recommended solutions and prohibitions (petroleum-distillates).

You can find various manuals from either Alpha or Dicor in our Library.

For my Alpha TPO roof, I use a number of items but basically Spic-N-Span and Murphy's Oil soap with a medium bristled scrub brush. I'm going to try something new this weekend but the above have worked well for me in the past.

Find a Dollar General near you and buy a bottle of Awsome Cleaner.......that and a touch of bleach should clean it up fine. I had a sail boat once uncovered for two years......that combo cleaned it in to perfection.

I wash the roof on our trailer, but I don't scrub it down. Because this is a rubber roof, how clean is clean? Should cleaning the roof mean taking it to the original white color? What is the correct way to be cleaning the roof? How often should you be 'touch bleaching' it? Now I'm thinking I'm not cleaning it right...

For a rubber roof I wouldn't use liquid bleach.........I'd use something like Oxy-Clean.
