Tommy.....it looks like it fits real nice on your 277, which is what I have. How long have you had it because there are some reviews suggesting they don't last more than a year in heat? Its between 95-100 here during the summer and I am storing out in the open.

Just bought mine this fall. Catalog that I have recommends it for intense sunshine, intense moisture, snow and/or long term storage. If I can get a 2-3 years out of it, that would be good. Planning on
a new HW in a few years.

The Sunbrella is guaranteed for 6 years, but I don't know how long I will have this either. I will probably opt for what you got. I haven't taken this thing anywhere yet and every day I spend more money on it, so wasn't that hot on throwing down another $600. Good thing I got a good deal on it ($12.7k for a used 2014), at least it seems good to me. Couple small scrapes on the cabinets, but other than that, it's real nice. Taking out this weekend, see what happens.

We really like our HW. We bought it in July last year. Have fun on your weekend trip. I'd love to be going but it's like 8 degrees outside now. Maybe 30 tomorrow . If you have any questions, yell.

Have a good trip, wish I were camping soon (come on spring). I found the first year of ownership is expensive as you buy all those things needed to get it all set up. (And for me some repairs after doing a newbee stupid thing). There after, it is more of buying things you want but do not really need. (And you always want some new gadget:-D). BTW, it took us two years of trying to figure out how to hang a privacy curtain in the camper before we realized one came with the camper duh huh. Enjoy your HW277, we love ours.

okay....since GofE and Tommy are paying close attention and I know I will get a response.... I am going to change the subject again. When you are towing, do you do so with the fridge on Battery or Propane? The dealer told me battery would be best so I dont have to worry about shutting down when I stop at a gas station. Will this run down the battery or will it keep charged up from the TW?

I have done both but prefer to run the fridge on battery as I tow. As you drive, the TV will charge the camper battery. If you stop for an extended time (like to eat) you may want to switch to propane to make sure you don't run down the car battery.

Be sure to precool the fridge as it takes awhile to cool down before stocking it. I usually turn it on the day before a trip.

Those of you with the 277 have that option. Unfortunately, those of us with a 296 cannot reach the fridge without raising the roof. So when we travel, if we run the fridge, it is propane all the way, and we live dangerously.

We finally made it out of town. Every thing is going great, except I can't figure out one thing on the over head lights. There is one in the bathroom. I assume on the 277 the switch is on the outside near the rear bed. If so, the light doesnt work and I cannot see a way to take off that cover to check the bulb. Any thoughts?

Is the master light switch on by the radio? It has to be on for bathroom switch to work

Great, have a great time. And yes the bathroom light switch is on the outside wall of the bathroom. If the master switch is on, and that is the only light that won't turn on it sounds like a possible bad bulb. Maybe someone will chime in about how to remove the light lens as I have not had to do that (yet)...

Yes, switch was on. I am usually pretty good at figuring stuff like this out, but I see no way to open that bulb cover. Strange. Anyway, was a great trial run and now planning the next getaway!

I think it it slides forward about 1/4 inch then it pulled down. It's just been so long since I put in my led's so can't remember exactly.

I will also have to look that the light cover in the spring. Are your lights LED? If not and you are planning on boondocking much, you may want to consider switching out your lights for LEDs to save battery power (I see on these threads many do that). Glad you had a nice trip. Camp on!!!

If the covers are like mine they slide out from the center and then pull down. You might have to gently pry them from the center to get them started. I finally figured this out when replacing my overhead lights with led bulbs. Made a vast difference. Brighter and a little whiter even though they are the "warm white". Before, my converter fan would come on with three fixtures operating. Now I can run all of my lights and the furnace without fan moving. Very pleased.

If it does require a little help to move, try using a credit card to get in between the base and the lens. It won't mar the plastic like a screwdriver would.

As you can see, most of us have switched to led's- and I do agree with getting the "warm white" ones. I purchased the 36 led panel and they are nice and bright-drawback was I got bright white and it had a blue color to them.

Thanks...great info, will have to try sliding back next time we are out. This is a 2014 and I think they came with LED for this year, but will have to check.

Hey Tommy5351 the cover looks great! What size is the box on your unit? I have a hw276 on order with a 14' box, wasn't sure on the size cover I should order. Thanks for putting up the pic btw
