The title says it all. I know it would be great not to have to crank the thing up for those 30 seconds, but are they worth it? It's actually not costing us anything more to get it, I just was wondering what the general consensus is on them.

I like them. It's kind of like an electric boat winch, not a necessity but on a hot day setting up or tearing down it is a nice feature to have. if something goes wrong you have the hand crank as a back up.
I like the idea and would go for it. Similar was when we bought our camper with the front electric jack. Wasn't sure I wanted it or needed it. Now, I would not have another camper without out, it is great.
Do you usually like to camp with electric hook-ups, or dry camp?
If you dry camp, I would stick with the hand crank; why waste battery power on raising the roof?
If you camp with electric then I would get the electric roof.
