Extra support needed under stairs?
When we purchased our 2014 HW276, I pointed out the floor flexing when walking on it. I was told this is expected based on the floor design. Fair enough...
Now, I'm noticing considerable flex whenever going up and down the stairs. The wall and cabinets flex outward when stepped on, sinking downward right where the stairs are. Upon further inspection, the frame rails under the floor stop, giving way to the stair assembly!
I'm convinced that extra support is needed here. I'm thinking the valterra universal stabilizer will do the trick.
The flex has been bugging me for awhile, then today I noticed the cabinet on the front side has begun splitting away from the wall. Paying attention to this separation when someone steps on the entry stairs, sure enough the split is flexed open.
Adding to this, crawling into bed, this flex occurs again. We are by no means small people but not even remotely close to the 1000+ pound bed weight limit :-)
So without a doubt the stairs need more support and now I'm wondering if I should consider fabricating more support for the king bed. I'll be paying close attention to the hinges on the support bars too, as these seem light weight and susceptible to fail.
Anyone else notice this floor flex on their stairs and/or cabinet separation from the front wall?
