Filter question

I have a 2015 rockwood hw276 with an in line water filter. I need to replace the fittings on the stock filter housing. I think the filter is cci 5 ca which is 5" and the lines are pex. I think the fittings are 1/2 but don't know if that's the size of the threaded or the outer nuts area. Pups not here right now 2 check.

Are you wanting to remove the filter and replace with regular plumbing? If so, we just did that and used a 6-inch long 1/2-inch pvc coupling. Just a couple dollars at Ace.

Sewserious. Kinda but I don't want to cut or change any stock plumbing that way it can be put back if I ever sell

No ned to cut anything. Our plumbing was attached to the filter housing with 1/2-inch female fittings. We took the filter housing and bracket out and use the male pvc coupler to join the 2 pieces of plumbing from each side of the filter together. Filter housing could be put back in by removing coupling, putting bracket back, hanging housing on bracket, and reattaching plumbing. If you do use a coupling, be sure to use some teflon tape. I should add that these were screw-in fittings,made it all really simple.

Kinma. I am not sure you can do what you want to do without cutting.

On my unit the PEX is clamped to the fittings with a metal band type clamp. It is not a water pipe clamp that you can just unscrew. I think at a minimum you will need to cut the PEX clamp off on both sides of the filter. Not sure if you can just cut the clamp of if you will need to cut the pip next to the clamp. Then you would just connect the two ends with fresh pipe.

I too am looking to do this MOD. Let me know how you make out and please post some pics. We love pics.

Might add we have FS 205. The pex was attached to the brass screw-on fittings with bands and not diectly to the filter housing itself.

Will do vin. I'll be doing it right after I de winterize it and b4 I sanitize. Hope it's pretty easy. Last I looked it seamed easy but don't remember

I removed the filter completely as well. Lowe's has a short flexpipe with connectors already on it. I took the filter housing with me and had them suggest something, and that is what they came up with and it worked like a charm. Did not have to cut anything.

I removed the filter on my 276 the first week I had it. I think the location was dumb, inviting leaks, which it did, my dealer removed it and gave me an inline filter for my hose, now if that leaks at least it's outside where I could see it
