First time out
This is our first time out in our new camper. So excited, to be here at Carolina beach. Last time I was here it was in a tent on the ground. Think I like this way better😁. Subaru Outback towed this 1640 Ltd like a dream. 27 mpg at 68mph. Feeling blessed for sure.

Very nice, watch your head on that tree branch.
No first time out for me yet, it's still at the dealer.
I also have an Outback, great car.

Sweet setup! I see you have some pretty nice coolers too! (I'm a cooler freak, lol). So the name of the place is Carolina Beach? Where is that? I'm only familiar with OBX.

It's Carolina beach state park. Yeah I like the Rtic cooler. I use the soft bag for day beach trip or put it in the back of the kayak. Both do great. Getcha one or three. Lol 😁

Great looking setup! You will enjoy the comfort and convenience while still being able to be outside. Those Subaru's do pull pretty well. I had a '03 Legacy that would tow my 16' aluminum boat anywhere I pointed it. Enjoy the trailer!

NJKris, Carolina Beach is south of Wilmington, NC on a peninsula between the Atlantic Ocean and the Cape Fear River. Beautiful place.

Awesome set up! No sag on on the Outback when towing? Just curious what’s is the Outback’s tow capacity and dry weight of your Ltd?

Glad your having fun in yours. When the camper is solid, you'll sure enjoy it. I know I did with my previous campers. Nothing like having a screen house with amenities and sleeping quarters!!
Wish I could get out in mine, it's had so many problems since I bought it new. I haven't even been able to use it with so many problems and trips back and forth to service. I recently had to cancel a camping trip because of another roof leak.
Glad yours is working out for you, I've given up on camping in mine, it's just an ugly lawn ornament now. When it warms up more, I'll be back camping in my tents, they don't leak or fall apart.
Enjoy your camper, we had some sunny 50 and 60 degree days here in NW Indiana that were just gorgeous camping days. Got to take them while they're here because 30's are just around the corner again until May.

Yea no sag really. We got 27 mgp going 72,mph. I have the 2.5 limited outback plenty of power to pass and do what ever. The outback tow rating is 2700 lb and he camper is at 1400lb dry weight. I installed a eco hitch and wired it myself.. Bought the stuff from www.etrailer.com very simple. It does really well towing. Towed it over 1000 miles so far and it's been great. Getting ready to put these on for the yaks. Apex RCB-3745-U Universal Strap-Attached Roof Crossbars.
I bought them so I don't have to drill holes in the camper. Going to do some solar and add another battery. We camped for 4 days and ran the heat off and on and the inside lights and awning lights. We still had 12.3 volts left on the battery. But I was still worried about the usage all the time. Installed a digital volt meter panel with one dual USB and 4 cigarette plugs. Only use one now for the small inverter. Two more weeks and hitting Kerr Lake for 3 days. Have a spot right on the water and private beach.
Can't wait 😁😁✌️

Man that stinks about the leaks. Why can't they fix it? I would have them fixed or they would be giving me another camper. Especially if I bought it new. Sorry to hear that for sure. Hopefully you'll get it worked out. ✌️

Your MPG is great! I get about 10 if lucky, 12. Even with a small camper.

I've requested that, we'll see where it goes. Right now I'm done with this camper for sure. Wish I'd never got rid of my 29' Jayco Jay Flight travel trailer.
Enjoy yours, they sure are enjoyable when they are reliable.
Yours seem like a fun size. Small enough to get anywhere a tent could.
I went big because my wife hates camping (this trouble camper isn't helping for sure), and she only tolerated it with the Jayco 29' camper since it had everything the house did down to central air/heating and cable TV (with hotspot and roku).
She isn't a fan of pop ups but made the change in preparation for a different house of the future that likely won't be able to fit the Jayco. So a fully featured pop up was needed and a bathroom for the daughter on our daddy/daughter trips when mom won't be there to take her to the bathhouse.
If it were just me camping, a 8' or 10' bathroomless camper would had been great for the simplicity factor. Yours looks great, you should post some pics when you get a chance.
When I had my earlier pop ups, I always tried to go in spots that were secluded, beautiful, and where no other camper could get into. Many campgrounds allowed me to camp in tent sites with my 2007 Starcraft 2406 12' box, no slide, pop up, since it was smaller and compact. I camped in some really nice spots. Same with the 2005 Rockwood.
Your mileage, btw, is great. With my 5.0L 4WD Crew Cab truck I get about 16 mpg driving about 65 mph, towing my pop up (back and forth to service). I normally get about 19 - 20 mpg driving ~75 mph and up to 22 mpg driving around 60 mph. Your mileage is just unbelievable!
Enjoy your camper!
