Flagstaff 625D add Gray water tank ?

We have a 2011 625D and we love it.

The only downside is there is no gray water tank. It is such a pain to use containers that overflow, or need switching everyday.

We never use the fresh water tank because we always camp where there is a water hookup.

I was wondering if anyone was converted the freshwater tank to a gray water tank ?

Or even better, added a gray water tank. Even 20 gallons would be enough for a 3 day weekend trip.

If you already haven't checked the price of tanks, you will see some tanks can get fairly expensive and installing them where they don't throw the the whole weight dymanics of your camper off can be trouble. I would never convert the fresh water tank to gray because the day may come when you upgrade and then you will have to replace the tank to sell it, not alone doing a lot of re-plumbing. I would go to the local camper store or online and purchase a 25-30 gallon Barker Blue Tote holding tank. It may be your best bet. I have one and they are great and can take several days to fill, of course depending on how many people are using it.

+1 for the tote the larger ones hook to your hitch for the trip to the dump station.

I have a 15 gal tote and get at least 3 days if I'm frugal about use of water to wash dishes, but i'm the only one using it, all depends on how many folk are going to run the water while you are out, how many dishes you will wash, if not using paper products.

We just purchased a 2012 625D and have the same question/issue. Why cant I plumb the graywater from the camper into the sewage drain at the campsite? Is draining into a tote the only answer?

Sorry for the naive question but I would prefer not to use a tote if i dont have to.

Also, both of the graywater drains on the camper (sink & shower) are 1.5" ID and are on opposite corners. Everything in my RV Accessories cataloge is 3" for larger RV's. Can anyone point me in the right direction on the correct hose sizes, lengths, and where to purchase?

Jim,
I took one of the caps to the hardware store and they set me up with an adapter to convert to a garden hose. You can then run the two garden hoses into the campground sewer connection.

I uses hoses with no connector on the one end to be sure NOT to use them for fresh water.

I found an adaptor on Amazon to hook hose from camper to tote which works fine.
I don't camp in areas that have an onsite sewer drain, none at most State Parks, only a central dump area which means you would need a tote. totes can be hooked to car hitch ball, easily pulled to dump site

Thanks Bean! I took your advise and went to Home Depot and created an adaptor for both outlets for less than $15.

I'm also going to get the sewer drain adaptor that jpetrey suggested. I should be able to find a "Y" adaptor so that both of my graywater hoses can connect to this drain adaptor.

I really appreciate everyone's help on this matter. Off to Myrtle Beach this weekend!
