Freedom 1940ltd step issue

I have a 2014 freedom 1940ltd
And the step in the front that goes to the queen bed is collapsing
My dealer has looked at it took pics and notified forest river with no help
The step is made of two pieces of paneling with no frame inside so it will not support any weight
The factory has said its constructed to specs how can it be to spec if the step won't even hold a child
Has anyone else been having this issue
All I want is the step reinforced but they keep saying there's nothing wrong with it

Since it's out of warranty, this one's probably on you. Are you handy enough to build your own frame? You could reuse the stock paneling to reskin it or plywood and stain to match, or scrap carpet. Or remove the step and buy a small stepstool, one or two step. This doesn't excuse the poor design but sometimes you gotta do it yourself.

We have been dealing with this for a long time regardless if it's in warantee or not they made it wrong so they should be responsible for it and all the other ones that are the same way
