Generator storage

While traveling. For those with the smaller generators, like the Honda 2000, do you put them inside the trailer when traveling (running them out of gas prior to storing them)?

I've been thinking of placing mine inside the trailer, as far to the rear as possible in the center isle, and placing the clothes duffles in front to keep it from sliding forward.

The Hondas have a valve on the gas cap to shut it off so fumes don't escape. I'm usually packed to the nuts, so I put it wherever it fits. In the TV or just inside the door of our trailer.

as was mentioned, the Honda 2000 has a vent cap that can be closed.
if i didn't have a pickup bed, i'd still have no problems carrying it in my vehicle or trailer.
i would put it in a plastic tub with a lid, like a Rubbermaid one.

If you put it in a tub, don't be smoking a cigarette when you open it, or the trailer door for that matter.

I put mine on a hitch receiver cargo rack that is mounted to the rear bumper of my SV235RS it works great for anything you don't want to store in TT.
