I have a newer style myself without the worm drive. I called and asked them and they said "not needed"..........I still sprayed it down with T-9 Boeshield.

That is my understanding also. No lubrication is needed.

I am going to be putting some dry graphite on the gears just in case. I think the gears should have some type of lubricant.

All I know is the new winch is LOUD! Man I wish they could have figured out something that was quieter.

Vin.

How do you know if you have an old power winch or the new one? I'm thinking my is the new style. Can't find anything in the manual about lubricating it.

This is what the newer style looks like. The manual gear is on the side. The old style has a manual worm gear on the top of the winch.

I was wondering this today. I am going to grease the tubes this week before our trip. I pulled the cover off of the power winch and the gears and everything looked dry. Mine is a 2014 and I recall the dealer saying it was a new style of winch. It looks like the picture in Vinmakers, so still confused if I have to do anything with that or not. Looks like no lubrication there? Will look through the manuals this weekend when we get into the camper.
