Handrail repair on tent trailer

On my first trip home with my new (to us) 2014 2317g tent trailer, I pulled/tore the handrail out while backing into my side yard. The rail caught my gate 2x4 and pulled out. Does anyone have any suggestions on this repair? Will I be drilling into fibreglass or does it have wood within the wall? My options are to relocate an inch below/above the existing location or fill with appoxy and use the same holes? I could not find any spec/blueprints online. Any tips or tricks?

Thanks!

Why not drill thru the existing holes, install a backer plate on the inside and thru bolt?

X 2 This would be the best, quickest and best idea, do not forget to seal the outside with caulk after repair to prevent water intrusion.

Thanks, Though of that as option 3 because there is cabinet (w/LP stove) and radio blocking. Not sure how easy it will be to pull out to gain the space.

Use an alum plate and drill & tap the plate, won't take much space.
The difficult takes about 10 minutes longer and the impossible about 30 minutes longer.

AND, it's a permanent fix.
