re: leaving the vent open year round. Can you prevent mildew by leaving it vented? I have a fantastic fan with a similar but shorter rain cover. It is also not at the back hanging over like yours. Is yours garaged in winter? I'm thinking maybe snow pile up would melt in mine if not. We just got our first pop up. I am trying to learn quick so we can get out a few times and then store properly.

No mine sit's outside, where do you live? ya that might be a problem.
