Hot water drain

Have my HW-276 for two years, this weekend after two days, no problems, hot water started coming out of, drain tube located right rear of unit. I think these tubes have something to do with winterizing, something here in central Florida we are unfamiliar with.any ideas what's causing this condition ???

The cap on your hot water low point drain is either leaking or fell off.

Check your faucets I though I had a low point drain leaking and it turned out to be a leak at the faucet running down the water line and out the low point drain

My low point drains on my hw276 don't have caps. But in the cabinet at the back. The low point shut valves are in there u might have an open valve or broken valve.

Thanks, my drain tubes don't have caps or are threaded to receive a cap, I'll check inside my cabinet

On my Flagstaff 27SC the low point drains are on the floor in the cabinet next to the rear bed. They were pretty susceptible to damage and occasionally getting bumped and leaking. I cut a plastic toilet flange in half vertically and screwed it to the floor in front of the drains, kinda like a wall around them. No problems since then.
