How to connect shore power to 2280BHESP
This is a really dumb question but how do you connect the 30amp electrical cord that comes with the camper to the actual camper? I push it in and try to screw it in but is still loose at the camper. Sorry for the noob question, still trying to learn about the camper before the first camping trip. Thanks!!

You need to push and turn the shore power cord before you turn the screw lock.

Thank you. I will have to try it tomorrow. Clockwise or counter? I tried to turn it but I wasn't sure and didn't want to break it.

The plug only turns a little bit - maybe half an inch. Then the ring can be threaded on to the receptacle on the trailer. Be careful, its easy to cross thread the plastic threads.

If I remember correctly the plug turns left but the ring turns righty tighty. As another poster said the plug only turns a little bit.

Actually, the pigtail and the threaded ring on ours both tighten to the right.

How to connect shore power to 2280BHESP
Insert the plug all the way, then partially rotate clockwise to lock.
The partial clockwise rotation of the plug engages the hooks on the spade which prevents the plug from coming out. You will want to rotate counterclockwise to disengage before trying to pull the plug out. However... electrical contact is made by the plug being pushed in, the rotation is simply a lock.
The threaded collar is a secondary measure to further prevent accidental pullout of the plug and also makes it "weatherproof". That collar tightens when turned clockwise and loosens when turned counterclockwise.

To use the old adage "righty-tighty, lefty-loosey". Before connecting a power cable, be certain their are no loads like the A/C or Microwave or Water Heater in the On position.
If your TT has the Furrion power port and cable set like mine, open the cover and the male lugs will be exposed and the cord end has a receptacle that fits onto those lugs. Insert and twist to lock it onto the lugs and then tighten the slip ring around the cord onto the TT finger tight. The opposite end of the cord that plugs into the Campground hookup box only has heavy lugs that insert into the 30 Amp service. Once a power cord is connected, the Furrion TT power port LED glows showing there is power.
Hope this helps.

Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to raise the roof up. If weather holds up I will try tonight.

I finally hooked it up over the weekend. As everyone has said, the collar is very easy to cross thread. Thanks again for all the help!!
