HW276 Roof Sidewall Repair

My first post!
We bought a 2007 high wall that I knew had a few issues.
I have already taken care of the mildew stains on the interior, and now I’m starting on the sidewalls that are starting to become compromised. They’re not at full failure yet, but I decided to go ahead and fix it.
I think it all started with the black water vent that appeared to be installed incorrectly.
I’ll try to keep everyone updated as I go along.

Sidewall is off. There’s rot at both ends, with the rear being the worst.

I had the same issue with my PUP. I understand that new Sidewalls from Forrest River are reasonable but the shipping will probably double the costs. I used plywood. An oscillating tool with a scraper blade is great for getting the covering off of the old boards so it can be reused, also good fro removing old caulk.

I ordered new sidewalls today. There were some stress cracks in the fiberglass skins, so I thought it best to replace instead of rebuilding. I have new corners, butyl tape, and Dicor already to complete the installation. On the to-do list is get some new hardware to go with the walls.
Kathy at Forest River was super nice and very knowledgeable about what I needed.

I might also suggest Eternabond Tape. I put it on the roof seams and around all of the vents, etc. Great stuff, have not worried about caulking for the last three years. If you use it be sure to follow instructions and clean the surfaces very well.
