HW277 Awning Zipper Bag Detaching

Anyone have this problem? I have a 2014, been used about 6-8 times. Bought it used when 6 months old. I think the first owner didn't tie up the awning tight enough which leaves weight on the zipper bag. The bag has started to sag and separate from the holder in the middle of the unit. It's actually tearing away from it and now has a 8 in gap or so. To further complicate it, the nylon ties are now simply rotting away. Half of the length disintegrated in my hand. I talked to the local RV repair shop and he said only solution is new awning at $1400.

I am thinking that the bag and awning are sewed together. I see on some web sites you can get the whole new replacement for around $250.

rvpartscountry.com
A&E 12' Trim Line Bag Awning
Retail Price $324.50
Your Savings: $80.21
Your Price: $244.29

I am thinking the quote you got was for labor included.

remove 2 screws and slide old bag and awning out, slide new bag and awning in. replace 2 screws and your done (30 minutes max).

I am sure you will can get it replaced for a lot less than $1400. Good Luck!

I had mine replaced under warranty for the exact same reason.......if you were to remove it and fold it in half you would notice that is where it started. Sam Buckles with FR years ago told me they were aware of this. Being folded in half post production seems to have an ill effect on that area.
