HW296 gray water dumping

Ok so we are new to pup camping, just bought a slightly used 2014 HW296. On our first trip out, I noticed gray water leaking out under the unit. Is there an overflow vent in the plumbing? So I went to dump the gray water but did not see a way to get it to flow through the main sewer line - other campers we rented I think the gray dumped through the black. Do you just run a hose to the sewer? Is there an adaptor to go from the gray outlet to a hose?

That is another owners post. Alot of us owners have done this im trying to post a pic of it. The 1 1/2 pvs is the wrong part number but it is called a clean out. All parts other then the valterra adp is from lowes or home depot.

Or just get this Valterra T01-0091VP 1-1/2" x 3/4" 90° Drain Connector

You can attach a garden hose but it takes about 10 - 15 min to empty the tank. Might be a better way if at full hook up.

I built an adaptor as described, it worked great! Thanks for the inputs. Now I have another question/issue. It send that the gray water tank capacity on my hw296 is low our there is a leak. If I keep the valve closed, in a short period of time running the sink, water starts dripping under the trailer. I have not crawled under looking for leaks our cracks. Is this normal for the gray to leak, is this an overflow mechanism?

I should add, I like to collect water in the gray tank to flush the line after draining the black. Else I could leave great open all the time connected to a sewer

The gray should leak and no it has no over flow if the tank fills youll get over flow in the shower thats how you know the tank is full. Sounds like you have a leak at a fitting or a crack somewhere. It should be covered under the warrenty if you have one. (Not sure new or used)

Check the "y" connector where the shower drain meets the pipe. That's where mine cracked.

Hey, thanks for the hint. Crawled under the trailer this weekend, sure enough the y connector is cracked, right across the top of it. Seems to me too much stress may have been applied during assembly.

Now the "fun" part- replacing it!

I cut off the other two connections CAREFULLY not to get into the other pipes. Unhook the grey valve pipe and hanger and reinstall that last.
