Insurance on a pup

The wife and I was taking about get some insurance on the Rockwood, who do have coverage, and is this normal for pups. Would like to hear your thoughts on this matter.

yea ... some do .. some dont ... but i certainly do...
the common thought is that the pup is insured under the vehicle insurance .. which it is .. however when not hooked .. its in a land of its own.
Tree branches ... weird stuff that could happen .. always does. Theft, vandalism and fire ...may cost you a few dollars more .. but hey .. its all piece of mind ..

Don't have a pup, but my 25' cruise lite only costs me I THINK about 200 a year for FULL coverage. No matter what happens, it is covered.
Worth the piece of mind to me.

Here in MA a trailer is considered a vehicle and can carry its own auto policy in addition to insurance of the TV. I have a full policy on the pup and it was about $100 new and this last year only cost about $30/yeah

If I recall correctly it was Travelers. I am sure things have gone up but in 2005 when the pop was new it was only about $100 or so. Then they depreciate the unit each year and adjust your premium. After 8-10 years the units are not worth anything and the insurance is way down. My premium was like $30 last year.

Good luck.

Vin.

So I was on the fence myself with this as I have a 1990 Coleman popup that I have had for the past 6 years without incident. And being that it was paid for I never even considered insurance.

But....

Last year I purchased a new to us 2010 Rockwood HW276. With it being all new and shiny I decided to get a policy thru Nationwide (also have home and auto with them) and the policy was only $11/month. Back in May while camping at Fort Wilderness a tree limb fell on the roof and punched a 2" hole thru the fiberglass roof. The fix.......complete roof assembly replacement.....total cost $3k. Deductible...$150. I do not regret the insurance!

My pup insurance in UT, with State Farm, is about 65 a year. My pup insurance when I move to ID, with Allstate, will be 75 a year. Strange, my pup insurance goes up with the move, but my insurance on my H3 and Silverado goes down.

We insured our HW 277 thru our auto insurance (USAA). Worth it for peace of mind and rate is minimal.
