have never had a problem with any of the bag awning on PUPs that I have owned. You can probably order a pole that will work from Camping Gear & Outdoor Gear - Outerwear & Outdoor Clothing from, one use for tarps, they are both adjustable and tough. I have used one for well over 10 years to hold a 20' tarp and it has served me well.

I called my dealer about replacing mine and I was told because it's a 13ft I have to replace the whole side which cost 300 or so. A completely new awning from Carefree of Colorado is like 500.
Which awning from carefree will work of my HW296?

If you can modify your pole to make it work, you may want to invest in these "ball end mount brackets" for your popup. We installed these on our 2nd pup and they worked great.

Never had a problem with either of our bag awnings. Wall Mounted or ground free-standing. Both worked great! And anchored, of course.
Briorick your right I took off the cap and low and behold there was a ball.
I'm probably gonna have my next door neighbor call Dometic for a replacement lower part of the arm. She's a forest river repair center, she own's Camping USA (Camping USA) E Bridgewater Ma. I get neighbor discount.Camping USA
