Question Just bought a used 2005 Flagstaff 227...

The previous owner is no help as she hadn't used the PU in four or five years. I towed it home and set it up in my backyard. The winch for the top wouldn/t work so I replaced the battery on the tongue. I got it all set up and the lights (or anything inside) would not work. I plugged it in from an outlet in the back of my house and still nothing. I am new to tis so I pulled out the manual (which has no pictures) and it said something about a switch on the converter needing to be pulled out (green) or pushed in (red). I could not find the switch; all that is on the converter is a fuse relay switch (off/on) and the fuses. I do not even know how to start the furnace.

Can someone walk me through what I need to do to get everything working with the battery and with a shoreline. I also understand that I can run the fridge and furnace with the propane tank.....cna this run the lights also?

Sorry about all of the questions but I have only tent camped before so this whole Pop-Up/RV thing is new to me.

Any help would be appreciated!!!!!!!

Not familiar with your particular pop-up, but I know on the 1 that I had there was a micro-switch that had be tripped to work the lights.......if the sink wasn't raised to the camping position, then the lights would not work. Look around for some type of switch under anything is meant to travel in the down position, and up in the camping position.

Thanks for the response. I know I saw a button on the sink unit when I lifted it into position but I did not see an extra switch for the lighting. I will look again tonight.

Sometimes those buttons get out of adjustment. Try working it a few times to make the contacts are good, and then try to hold the button all of the way in and see if the lights work. You might need to replace, adjust, or shim the button to make it work.

Well, I was able to find the button; and after replacing a couple of fuses the lights now work when the "Flag" is connected to power via extension cord. Tomorrow I am going to try to tackle the furnace and get that going with the gas to see if that all checks out. I'll keep y'all up to date.

Thanks,
Ed

your questions should be posted in the Tent Campers section, since this is a popup and not an ultra-lite TT.

First of all, congrats on the new to you pup and welcome to the forum!

Mine had an inline fuse near the battery that I had to replace to get anything to work off the battery.

Be a little patient when trying the furnace. It may take a few attempts before air in the gas lines gets cleared out. Also when you get around to trying the frig it can take a few hours to a full day before it gets cold.
It might be worth the $$ to take the pup to a nearby dealer, have them go through it and then have them do a Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI) with you.

Good luck and happy camping!
