Leaky roof, Help.

It has been a while since I have been here but I need some "expert advice" on how to proceed. Let me explain.

Last year we bought a new Forest River 627D and on the very first trip the roof leaked. It went back to the stealership that I bought it from and all they did was add sealant. They said that they run it through the rain check. I doubt that they did because on the next trip the roof leaked just like before. So back to the same place I go and this time they removed all of the old sealant and applied new. It was a same day appointment so I know it did not get the rain test. I don't know how but the other trips last year were rain free and I thought my leaky roof problem had been solved, until the first trip this year. (I am fortunate to have covered storage for the camper) We went to Hunting Island State park in South Carolina and it monsooned for our arrival. We managed to get set up between down pours and we quickly found that the roof was leaking just as bad if not worse than last year. The sealant they used has dried out and cracked.

I am very tempted to contact corporate about this but before I do, do I give the dealer that I purchased from another chance? Do I go ahead and contact corporate? Or do I say the heck with it and do it myself?(I have a construction background)

This is leaky roof is very disappointing as this is my wife's dream camper and I have put all of our trips on hold til I can get this fixed.

Thanks, Forrest

If you don't trust the selling dealer, contact FR for another dealer willing to do the warranty work.
Or use an independent RV shop or mobile RV tech. You just have to get pre-approval from FR and be willing to be reimbursed.

Thanks. I don't think its a trust issue at this time, just "don't meet expectations". The first time it went back it was still brand new and is just a year old now, I shouldn't have to be dealing with this. Since it's my wife's dream camper she wants it fixed. On the other hand I am ready to use our states lemon law. Did I tell you that I have to fix the awning, again? and the other small issues. It seems there is something every time we take it out. That's another topic for another day.

Back on track, does anyone have the proper contact information for Forest River? What I have doesn't seem to work.
