OK you didnt like the spare tire idea. So P/M me your address and I will send you a FREE tailight assy with the l/p bracket just like the one you have.I removed the factory lights and put on LEDs that the Other guy can see when I am going to change lanes or stop, even in the daytime! We are in a campground at nite so I dont have a licence plate light,I mounted our L/P on the rear ladder. Youroo!!

Senind the PM now.

I would like to upgrade to LED at some point in the future, but my camper budget is negative at the moment as the tow vehicle needs some work. Thanks!!

I think many of us have had this happen...I've learned to take the plate off each winter when I get ready to put the cover on. Saves it from getting caught and snapping the cheap little plastic nibs. On my Roo when I did it I just broke the old nibs off flush and got a metal bracket and mounted just below the taillamp (sealing the screw holes as I did it for leakage).

Excellent!

I have pulled a boat trailer for 15 years without a plate. Boat trailer plates are , for wahtever reason, stolen extremely often. after 3 in one season I simply stopped putting it on. I have never been pulled over for no plate on a boat trailer.

One weekend without plate on the camper, pulled over.

Got it in yesterday's mail. will be legal for our next trip.

BTW - you said you repalced with LED. Can you point me to the ones you used? When the camper budget is flush again in the spring, I may try and upgrade the lights to LED.

And thanks again!

Well I'm sorry I'm late on this string but here's my two cents. I mounted my plate to the bumper below the tail light the plate very sturdy and is still illuminated by the tail light so still legal.
