Locks on storage box 2018 Rockwood 1910ESP

The locks on the storage box will not turn with key. Yes, it is the correct key. Used graphite, still wont turn. Even the small door lock is nearly impossible to use. Any suggestions?Click image for larger version

Does the key turn in the cylinder if the door is open?

On mine I used WD40 also but I have to push in on the door by the lock just a touch and opens and closes easily then.

I did that too. I forgot, until I read your reply.

Then you have a bigger problem than WD 40 will solve. Either your key is bad or a tumbler has dropped. Hard to believe it's the tumbler in more than one lock. Ask another RV'er to use their key (most of us have a CH750) and see if it works.

Usually CH751. Buy spares on Amazon or eBay.

These are a pretty simple lock.

First, see if the key will turn while pushing in HARD on the door.

Then, see if the key will turn while pulling out HARD on the door.

If either of these works, the frame or door is slightly warped. Nothing to fix. Just remember to pull or push as appropriate.

If the lock still doesn't work, get a lock-pick set from Amazon or eBay. Use the L-shaped tool at the outer edge of the opening to try to turn the cylinder. At the same time, use one of the pick tools at the other end of the opening to tickle the tumblers. On this simple lock, even an amateur should be able to open it in five minutes.

Once the door is opened, unscrew the tongue from the lock, then unscrew the lock. Buy a replacement from Amazon, eBay, or an RV supply. You may want to transfer the old tongue to the new lock after installing it.

I swapped out all of the ones on our trailer with a combicam lock. Using a 3 digit combination (you set the combo of your choice). Then you never have to worry about having your keys on you all the time. Because without fail, when you need to get into a storage door, you left the keys inside, or on the picnic table, or in the truck, etc. I dont believe this is the exact ones we purchased, but the cams are similar to the ones below. Dont recall the length of the shaft, but you can measure to get the length you need. We also bought the plastic covers to keep dust and moisture out

Your lock is broke. I assume the same key fits all the locks on your camper. Normally having to replace only one lock means adding an additional key to your keyring. But as was stated earlier, these are cheap locks. Almost anybody, who knows how these locks work, can pick them with a paperclip and a small screwdriver in less than a minute.

If you can get a replacement lock with the same type key. Meaning the key fits in the lock (does not need to turn), you can use the number stamped on the key or the cylinder of the old lock. To re-pen the new lock to the old key. About any locksmith can do that.

I had the same problem and found that I had the key upside down. It actually went into the slot but would not turn. Boy did I feel stupid.

Get rid of the locks with the CH751 key so that everybody in the campground can't open your door. You can buy locks that use the same key as your entry door so you will only have to have one key.
