Mach 8 ac heater

Has anyone added the heating element to their Colman Mach 8 AC? I know it’s only 6000BTUs but wanted to know if it made a noticeable difference?

You’ll get warmer expending the energy installing it than you will using it.

Mach 8 ac heater

Purchased the Coleman Electric Heat Kit 9233-4551 and installed it in November 2018. I used it for the first time in Clermont Florida this past weekend 1/18/19 -1/21/19 when the temp hit between 35-55 degrees each night.

It initially took the chill out of the air but after a couple hours I noticed it was just blowing cold air as if the fan was just running. After I shut it down for a while and turned it back on it seemed to blow warmer air again. Thinking there may be some safety mechanism that turns it off after a certain period of time.

I’ll be purchasing a small space heater with a higher BTU to ensure constant heat.

I have but haven't use it yet on the 2716g. I did on my previous 12', no slide out, pop ups and it made a difference. Definitely worth it for ~$60 installed from my dealer. Never on a Coleman Mach 8, just Mach 3s and a Dometic.

It's 1750 watts not much bigger than a hair dryer. Can you heat your trailer with a hair dryer?

It worked great !!!

So we just installed our heater on our Mach 8 AC on our HW296. It puts out 6,000 BTU’s. We were camping at Snow Canyon Saint George Utah over the weekend. It was in the low 30’s at night. I’m happy to say we didn’t need our gas furnace at all at night (while sleeping). Did it beep it warm? Ok jets admit “warm” is a relative term. No it wasn’t walk around in shorts and T-shirt warm. However it was definitely sleeping well warm. And during the day mid 50’s it was hot. I love it! Best mod yet!!
I agree it’s not “Hot” but it definitely makes it comfortable. For $60.00 it’s a must do.

Just used my Mach 8 heat strip and it raised the temp from 67 degree to 79 degrees in a short time while just out at the camp fire. The outlet of the AC wasn't warm, but hot and worked just like a standalone heater. I did have the heat control set to max.

Very pleased with the performance of this heat strip as I won't need a stand alone heater to compliment the furnace.
