Maiden voyage!

Picked up the camper on Wednesday and decided to take her out that day...we are on vacations anyways!
Ride home was a little scary due to a brake controller that stopped working halfway home. Also the hitch looked really funny to me, almost bent!! The hitch and controller were installed by Uhaul. Tech at uhaul said both bolts were loose and one could be tightened by hand!
Other than that it's been an awesome time..need some Gizmos!

You might look at the manual on the awning. It isn't set up right. Other than that, it looks GREAT!

Is this Matt?!?..lol. TV is 2000 Explorer V8. No WDH or sway bar. The ride up from Orlando felt good but it did some good swaying and I did lose power to the brake controller so wasn't able to apply brakes to only camper to calm the sway....or at least that's what I was told I could do.

Where do you live? We are having a Florida F.R.O.G. Rally in September in Williston. Check out the info under the F.R.O.G. Forum on the home page. We would love for you to attend!

Yrs it's matt, we our TV is an 14 explorer. We liked the older model explorers like yours. We have an 2014 explorer now and we sway all over and it seems that we may need a wdh even though it says we max at 5k. Our pups only the hw276 (max 4800#) next year we are looking to go to a full size truck.

Kinma13,

Per Ford the newer explorers should have a WDH for over 2000lb.

http://www.ford.com/resources/ford/g...orer_Sep30.pdf.

We kinda prefer the older ones as well. We recently 'upgraded' and passed that one on to our son.

Yes if the explorer is 2wd or 4cyc but ours is awd and 6cyc so the wdh is at 3500# I'm sorry the max trailer is about 3700# not 4400# just looked at sticker.
