Has anyone else darn near damaged their pup's door trying to get the roof lift winch handle out of its storage spot inside the door?? Seems like the worst idea for a place to store a part when that part is required to raise something blocking you from said part. Who designed this?! Or what the devil are we doing wrong?!
Maybe we're lowering the roof too far? Maybe the pup gods are angry at us for not catching our blown converter sooner but man! Feels like we're forcing our door to the point of eventually shredding the black rubber 'weatherstripping' along the top. DH has to open the door to get the handle, there's no way I can get to the handle when we go to set up. Then he has to force the door shut after stowing the handle after year down.
What gives?!?! We're not dim people (normally) but frankly this handle thing it making us feel slightly ridiculous!
We unhooked the latches that hold the roof down on our old Clipper 1465HST and it helped a lot. The gasket on top of the door still took some coaxing to get it to fold back so the door would open. I was going to make some kind of holder to secure it to the front by the roof winch, but traded it off on our new rig.
