Mattress Heater Issue

Hi everyone. So our 2009 Forest River Rockwood 2317G has electric mattress heaters. We plugged them up but they did not seem to work on our maiden voyage two weeks ago--even when we turned them up all the way. The mattress seemed to get hot near the connection to the control, but nowhere else. Is there something special I need to do to make them work? What am I missing. Thanks for the help!

On our old '07 2601SS with mattress heater, we couldn't really notice that the heater was turned on until after we were in the bed for a while, but got quite warm then. Couldn't really feel the heat by just touching the mattress with my hand.

Our 2011 is the same way. You have to be in bed to feel the heat. You don't feel it by just touching it. Or putting your hand on it.

ours work when there is weigh on it, and turns off when there is no weight, that is why put the dog up there first.

We got a heated mattress pad at Wallmart, it has dual control and gets nice and warm. We don't use the heated mattress
