New anode

I've done a search on here, but cannot find what I'm looking for. I have a 2015 2516g pop up. My hot water tank anode is pooched and I don't know which one I get to replace it with. The only numbers that I see is "191742". If anyone could provide me with a Amazon link Etc to what I need.... that would be absolutely fantastic! I will read further on the mag vs aluminum. TIA!!

For as bad as you think it looks...it still has life left in it. How many seasons has it been in there ?? Mine looks like that after two seasons and probably good for 1 or 2 more.

"Pooched" is when there's nothing left but the thin rod in the center.

I used the 232767. ASIN B003VAYRNM $12.49 Prime.

Mine was down to the core. I'm guessing never replaced. I'm the third owner '15 Flagstaff HW31SCTH. Click image for larger version

Suburban part # is 232767.

There are LOTS of sources for them.
Here is a link to a Suburban manual in case you didn't receive one with your R/V.

Rectorseal works better than teflon tape on threads when you replace it. Don't over tighten.

Anyone know the black plastic material the base of the rods are made out of? That Rectorseal isn't supposed to be used with ABS. I think my original rod was all metal.

I've never seen any plastic on an Anode rod. The threads may be black but it is metal.

I think that is like “anodizing” for steel to resist rust. I think my oem on my 2011 unit was black looking.
