Just used our gizmos for the first time last week, LOVE them. Our heater only came on every half hour instead of continually running. I recommend them to everyone, but yes put velcro to make it a snap when raising the roof. I also attached the bungie cords to one ring and attached both rings to a clamp under the bed ends, easy and no tangling.

Welcome from Arizona. We currently have a Rockwood HW 276, too, and it feels like a palace once we get it set up. We can enjoy it dry or with hookups - and when we camp with friends, we love having them over to our "house" for drinks and dinner. :-D

We, too own a 276

and are anxiously awaiting it's maiden voyage...I'm beginning to think we could start our own 276 club. What's cool about ours is we can still get factory parts! I had to order 2 roof sections for a 2008, and at 14' each, the price was only $160 for both, shipped!

Pulled the PUP out into the driveway and set up. Good rain for 24 hours. Op checked the heater, Micro, lights, radio.

Prolly will de-winter and sanitize water system and op check plumbing tomorrow. Pretty neat.

I would suggest you also check the side bunk panels for leaks. You will notice that Rockwood uses a different fabric for the side bunk ends than any other tenting. I think it was used to allow the unit to better breath. Some people have experienced some leaking on them as some fabric must have less repellent than others. Just a slight manufacturing oversight/defect. It is easily fixed with some Kiwi Camp Dry HD water repellent spray.

The point is to check it in the driveway under controlled conditions and fix it before you find yourself in a bad storm camping.

I checked mine and it was fine but I will be keeping an eye on it.

Vin.

Yeah read all about the leaking issues here so sticking it out in the rain in the driveway was a chance to ring it out. The only issue I saw after 24 hours of steady to moderate rain was leaks on one corner due to a portion of the tenting sagging and pooling water. Seems the tenting is bunching at the top edge and not taught. The other three top edges real tight and no leaks noted.
