New member - wiring troubles

Good afternoon all. I just started at this forum yesterday.

I need help with winch wiring. I have a 2006 Flagstaff popup. The winch wiring seems to be double protected, but I am wondering if having a 50 amp fuse (five bucks or more to replace) is necessary when there are circuit breakers at the battery connection. I have blown this twice, but cannot detect that it's a short that is causing it. The motor works fine, so I really cannot say why the fuse blows other than the winch motor is drawing more that the fuse can handle.

If anyone has an answer to this, I would be most appreciative.

I'll give you a welcome also. Please don't let it bother you that your thread was moved. It happens often, but an attempt is being made to keep the threads in the right places, so you can hopefully get the most help. Make sure all you connections are clean and tight and that your battery is in full condition and in good working order (Check voltage with multi meter- what is reading?). A bad connection either at positive feed, negative feed or ANYWHERE along the circuit as it can cause your issue of blowing fuse due to bad connection requiring more draw and more heat.
