New Owner, Wheel and tire question

I just got my 2516G and I like the unit alot, the only thing i dont like is the tire size/ load ratings.

Has anyone had success putting a 14 inch tire on it?

I think the HW version has a 14 inch rim/tire, but iam not sure if they made any mods to the axel to make it fit?

Thanks in advance

Not the axle that needs modification, it is whether or not you have clearance between the tire and the wheel well of the trailer.
I went from 13 to 15 on my 228BH; however, it has a five inch lift to allow for larger tires.

As for the max weight. Most likely both tires are rated lower than the maximum trailer weight. Need to subtract the tongue weight from the max trailer weight, then divide that by two and the tires need to equal or exceed that weight.

The stock tires that came on the 228BH plus the tongue weight, was identical to the max weight rating.

Need to figure out the diameter of the old tires vs. the new tires and whether or not there will be sufficient clearance.

I agree that your biggest problem will be height of the new tires. You need to make sure you have the clearance. The tire specs should give you the numbers.
