Vin,
We are camping this weekend down Brewster, rained pretty good all weekend, no further issues with the seams, used the gizmos. Those things are great for blocking the light. A bit of contact wetness on the "canvas side panels, I think without touching them they would have been fine, but the bungees for the gizmos contact them as well. I think I will waterproof them in the spring.
On a different note, I believe you were looking at the bunk end skirts that go to the ground, I am as well. I noticed the bungees for the gizmos curl the tent skirt under, won't work as I envisioned them. Would love to see pictures if you do it.

I used this ( Amazon.com : Kiwi Camp Dry, Heavy Duty Water Repellent, 12oz : Insect Repellents : Sports & Outdoors ) on our pop up for years with no ill effects. It smells while it's drying, so I treated it a few days in advance when I could leave it popped up. Water would just bead up and run off. I put it on heavy at the sewn junctions.

Hey Steve,

We headed up to a place in Central Mass that was pretty good. Got the same weather as you.

I did notice that there was a bit of dampness on the bedding that was up against the sides. There was also a bit of condensation I think under my son's rear flap. It was only on his and I could have happened because he needed to leave for the night and I closed the drapes on the bunk to lessen the heating space.

I am not exactly happy that they put this canvas stuff on there. I am still trying to figure out what the benefit is other than breathing. The thing is the normal material worked so well. Do not understand why they would mess with it.

Thanks for the Kiwi recommendation Fan. I think I will be applying some of that stuff next year just to be save.

We should not have to do this.

Have you received your new end units yet? I think you were due to have them installed and I am curious as to what you received. Is it the same thing? Did your dealer say anything about your problem? Have they been seeing other people coming in with a similar problem?

We have a similar issue on our brand new Rockwood. We camped in a lot of rain this summer and the corner of the dinette started a leak. It didn't drip water in but the corner you could clearly see the moisture coming in and it was spreading. Took it to the dealer and they sent pictures to FR. FR is going to replace them. They told us to expect 6-10 weeks for this, so we are waiting for the end of camping season, but that is ok since ours isn't dripping or physically leaking. They said it was moisture getting into the panels. What ever that means.

Interesting. I suspect that the material your talking about is the normal vinyl tenting that rockwood uses. And this leaked? Interesting.

Yeah it is in the top corner of the dinette slide. No drips or puddles like the op but 6 inch or so area that keeps growing. I will post a picture this weekend when we are out.

Just got my camper back this weekend from the dealer. They had it about 10 weeks or so. I don't think they got the canvas out right away because they got slammed with winterizing because the temps dropped earlier than planned. They sent them to Rockwood for repairs, who then sent them to the tent canvas manufacture.

I didn't get any pictures of the repair, but the company re stitched the two corners that were leaking. So, hopefully they will not leak anymore. They were not dripping leaking like the OP, but more of a wet saturated leak. Guess I will find out next season.

Was pretty happy with the turn around. I expected it to take longer.

I believe the new fabric was to help alleviate condensation. This was how the sunbrella fabric on Coleman popups worked, and it worked well. I am new here, and considering a HW296. One of the things I would miss from my coleman is the superb sunbrella fabric on the tenting. It was heavy duty, never leaked and never developed condensation.

I had one bunk end replaced, no leaks or seepage on that side. On the older side the side widows would absorb water and get damp. I treated them with a waterproofing product from Camping World (Protectant 303?), and have had not further issues.

needing bunk end sides for my 276 (they were simply missing), I contacted TJ Snuggles, who makes them for Forest River. They advised me to spray water on them to swell the fibers and spread bees wax on the seams.

I am going to do the same thing. I am a bit disappointed in that Rockwood did not continue to use the same product for all the tenting. I tested the bunk flaps and they do not leak, but I will still be treating them just in case. I DO NOT WANT TO GET WET!

Like Mr. Dan, I too had a 95 Coleman, never had a leak or condensation issue. We used it alot for 10 yrs and never had a problem. I even scrubbed the outside with a scrub brush (gently) and rinsed it with hose a couple times , no leaks.

Those canvas panels caught my eye too as we've been playing with our 2514G (just like exploreco has).

I'm thinking about trying to seam seal/tape the bottom of those canvas sections and then waterproof them. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

Kinda concerned about the sealer sticking. Even though I've used it on every tent I've ever had and have had no issues. I usually apply it where the tape (pre-applied on my good tents) meets the tent itself. Sorta used to seal the tape to the tent. If that makes sense.
