no lights...rookie needs help

I am not good with mechanical or electrical items so here goes!!! I own a 2006 flagstaff popup-love, love, love it! The manual just is not "idiot appropriate" for me. My ceiling lights do not work-even when plugged in to ac. I have changed the fuses on both the battery and the fuse box...I have cleaned and lubed the connections to the battery...I have changed the light bulbs...I have tripped the outlet...no luck. The water pump works on ac but not on the battery. the only thing I have yet to try is getting my battery checked to see if it is still good. Any ideas?? Will I need a new part for my camper?

First have battery checked!

Take the battery to your local WalMart, they will test it free. Have you checked the water level in the battery? There may be a fuse blown somewhere that goes from the battery to pop-up. Look under the frame on the drivers side, just behind the tongue, under the floor for a circuit breaker or fuse.

I am not familiar with your trailer but on mine there is a small box(smaller than a matchbox) close to the battery with 2 wires attached to it that has a very small reset button on it. It may have tripped and need to be reset...your ceiling lights are DC I believe so will not work unless battery is in the circuit even though plugged into AC...

Just a guess because its been a few years since my pup (and that was a Jayco), but is there a switch that prevents lights from coming on when the camper is closed? Maybe near the sink compartment. Sometimes these stick.

Other than that, the inline fuse or breaker leading from the positive battery terminal is my next guess. Are your batteries being charged through the converter/charger?
