Btw Tatical.
How did the PDI go? Any problems? Any quality issues at all that you identified? This forum says to stay away from Monday and Friday builds.
Vin.

Congrats on your new Rockwood HW296! We had a Fleetwood HW many years ago and loved it.

Oh. Your killing me.
I was already feeling blue about missing the labor day holiday without a camper and now your photos really have me jonesing to go. Your unit looks good. Snap a few photos of the inside.
btw. There was just a post about those awnings collapsing under some rain weight. Make sure it is tilted quite a bit. I am not sure how strong the new Domestic ones are.
Are you gonna buy some X chocks for it. I have been looking into those recently. Gotta measure my unit first. Not sure how far the wheels are spaced.
I see you have a fellow pop up for a neighbor. Did his eyes pop out of his head when you pulled in?
Vin.

Looks good Tactical.
Did they change the wardrobe? The one I have rests on the counter. Yours seems to hang. They could not have raised the roof height could they?
Does anyone else have a wardrobe in their HW? Have they changed it?
You doing a bit of driveway camping? lol. Your scenery changed. Hahha.
Hope you have a chance to get out this weekend.
Vin.

Yeah, got it home after a 9 hour drive, it pulls really nice. I set it up in the driveway to read all the stuff and learn the camper.

Holy crap. 9 hours? Did you have to drive that far to the nearest RV wholesaler? There was none closer? Your in Missouri right? Where did you end up picking it up? Who was the dealer?

Vinmaker, the dealer was Tom Raper in Richmond, Indiana. They were the only dealer to have the HW296, it was about 455 miles one way. Yes I'm in central Missouri.

It might take you a trip or three to start noticing stuff. Just keep a list.
When we packed up from our first trip (an hour up the road) we discovered we had no brake or turn signals. After four hours of crawling around and playing with the plug and TV receptacle, we found the wire harness had rubbed against the screws holding the floor to the frame. We fixed the break and tied the wires away from the screws. Forest River reimbursed us the cost of having a tech come to the house to do the work.
During our Yellowstone trip last month, we found something on the floor every time we opened up the our Forest River 425D -- screws, part of a bearing, nuts which held the stove cover together, the bumper for the bed rails (an ongoing problem for many people). It was just annoying until we stopped in the Black Hills and discovered the shelf next to the frig had collapsed. Our PUP spent two weeks at Lazy Days in Tampa getting warranty repairs.
I love a lot of the features and ours is certainly bigger than our old Fleetwood Rushmore, but the build quality is definitely questionable.
Good luck with your new PUP and tow it till the wheels fall off.
John
