I still have to get the Jeep ready to tow. It has the factory tow package but I need to add the 7-pin wiring harness.
Where did you locate the brake controller in your Jeep? It seems like any place I put it is going to be inconvenient.

Are you planning on wiring 7 pin and brake controller yourself? I shopped it and most jeep places wanted $1100 including parts (which are about $175)!!! I did it all by myself and saved about $900. It took me about 3 hours, hardest part was fishing 7 pin wires from back to engine! I installed the brake controller on the drivers side to the right. I'm 5'7" and it does not hit my leg when I press the gas, but my boyfriend is 5'11" and it drives him nuts. The bracket on the Tekonisha is big and bulky. I unhook it and store it when not in use. Will prob use some of that heavy duty hook and loop tape to stick it in the same spot.

You can see where the holes are drilled for the bracket and the wiring harness

Yeah we're kinda in the same boat. I'm 6'0" and my wife is 5'5". I had looked at the Tekonsha Prodigy RF but holy cow is it expensive.
I may just do the 7-pin myself. I found the factory harness for $110 or so.

The 4.56s will be nice for sure- especially with the auto. Ours is a manual with stock 3.73s and it tows our little 176 great (don't ask how I know...... LOL)
Our 2000 TJ had 35's and 4.88s- you could just about get out and walk faster that it rolled in 1st!

My jeep only had 3.21 gears so I had no choice but to replace. It tows nicely. On another note, I ordered a wiring kit for the brake controller from etrailer.com and they have a step by step YouTube video for the installation using that kit. Has everything you need.
