Popup bed slides

My 2017 rockwood 2516G, the rear bed gets stuck a little ways out. Tomorrow I’m planning on trying to lubricate the slides tomorrow but I’m not sure what to use. I have some silicone spray I’m going to use unless I need a different compound. Any tips? Thanks everyone.

Silicone spray is like my Frank's Red Hot Sauce - I put that s$#@t on everything.

I recently found one from WD40. It's still a spray silicone but leaves more of a residue behind. It's really fixed the squeal of my scissor jack.

I had a love-hate relationship with silicone spray. I loved the way it would not leave a dust-attracting residue. I hated the way that it didn't lubricate nearly as well as oily, greasy lubricants.

Find a squeaky door hinge in your house. Use silicone spray on it. See how long it stays quiet. I could measure that in days in my house, with light use. Now, put some WD40 or equivalent on that same hinge. My hinges stay quiet for months.

So, know that the silicone is a continuous application. You'll need to lubricate very often.

And, as you know, never struggle with a PUP, because you will almost always win ... and you'll win at the expense of canvas/vinyl, hinges, and other structural components that aren't as strong as you are.

Protexall: Super Slick Stuff is what I used on my Coleman bed slides. I now have a 21SS hybrid and when the slide out started squeaking I sprayed the gears and tracks with it.
I don't know how it works but it seems to do well and lasts.

What I started using on my slide out is a spray motorcycle chain lube. That stuff lasts quite a while. It is a little thicker than silicone and worked for me.

I used 3-In-1 garage door lubricant spray on my Rockwood pop up slide-out bed tracks.

I've been having issues with our "new to us" 2014 Flagstaff MAC 228 and the front bed pull. After a little of investigating I realized the one slide looks like it's missing a black piece? Assuming this piece is there to help the wheels slide easier and rest on it? I'll attach pictures. One thing I did realize is how damn hard it is to find any part information on these things! (Or maybe since I'm new I'm just unaware where I should be looking...) Does anyone have any thoughts or advice on what this part is or where the heck I can get a new one other than a Forest River/Flagstaff Dealership?

A couple of my Black stripes worked their way out too. I gave up trying to put them back in. As far as i can tell not having them doesn't effect my bed from sliding in or out much. Maybe if they were all missing it would, but i doubt it. I also never found much info on what they are called or what they do.

The top picture (no black strip) looks an awful lot like bed rails from a classic trailer, such as my 2007 Fleetwood/Coleman. Typically, the addition of plastic like this would serve to minimize friction and maybe noise. With that said, I don't actually know the utility of those pieces of plastic.

Use a dry lubricant often on the rollers, wheels, and channels of your bed slides. Also, wipe them out occasionally with a paper towel or something. Keeping these channels clean and lubricated is always a good idea.

It contains no oil, so will not harm the fabric material.

You can use it for the slides, without worrying about it messing up your mattress, etc. I also used it on my lifts.

I would use any lubricant that's dry and non-sticky.
Most silicone or graphite lubricants would do the job.

There's also this "specialized" stuff. RVcare Slide Out Silicone lube.
It's probably identical to their regular dry silicone lube, but it doesn't hurt if you want a special can of lube for your popup.

I rubbed some paraffin wax on the slides and they moved a lot easier. doesn't seem to be leaving any stains or marks on the vinyl when the pop up is taken down which I was worried about with liquid type lubricants.
