power usage question hw256

i recently bought a new to me 256hw.
one question i have is what can i use as electrical options.
the dealer told me i can use some options on 20amp, but not all.
and some options on 30amp, but not all.
is there a list of utilities that i can use on DC vs AC vs 30amp vs 20amp
reason why is i was told not to use the Air Conditioner on 20amp or i will fry the wiring.
but i plug my 120volt from the house, and can not get the heated bed elements to heat. they have power but no heat. am i doing something wrong?

my dealer said the ac is the only thing needs 30 amp, though he said you could run the ac on 20 if nothing else was on (I have tried that but does not work well, kept tripping the breaker). All the campgrounds I frequent has a 30 amp connection and everything works when on 30 amp. Now, we have tripped the 15 amp breaker in the camper when running the coffee maker and an electric room heater at the same time, oops. As for the mattresses, they do not feel warm until you lay on it. Then once you are in bed, they heat up nicely and keep us toasty when the temps dropped to the 20s outside.

The lights and water pump are dc, they will be powered through the converter when you are plugged into shore power. If not on shore power, then the battery supplies the power to these items.

So basically, the shore power only items are
Air conditioner
Microwave
Radio
Outlets


The dc powered items are
Furnace
Water pump
Lights
Water heater

If you have a three way fridge, it runs on either shore power, battery, or propane.

Check your voltage in the camper. When you try to pull power through an extension cord of improper amperage, the resistance will cause the voltage to drop.

Since a heating blanket is a "fixed resistive load" low voltage means low watts which means poor heat.

Trying to start your air conditioner under low voltage is much worse since it is a "inductive load" (compressor and fan motor). In this case it needs a fixed amount of wattage to work. With low volts, it makes up the different with amps. High amperage will destroy your compressor and fan motor. It can also pull so many amps the wires can burn before the breaker can trip.
