Propane Fridge does not light on piezo igniter

I have a Dometic refrigerator that works on 12V, 120V, and propane. Originally it did not work on propane, but we found the orifice was clogged with spider web as the previous owner did not use it for 9 years of ownership.

We can light it manually with a butane lighter and it works fine, but when trying to light it with the piezo igniter it only lights after 10 or 12 tries and the flame blows out due to excessive propane buildup. I suspect the piezo could use cleaning or adjustment. Any tips on how to service the piezo, so it reliably lights as it should on propane?

Any insight is appreciated.

I was taught by the dealer to click the igniter really quick. First click gets a small puff, which is the burning off of the propane in the chamber, second click ignites the burner before a build up of propane can occur.
It works for me all the time. And it is even on his website.

Right, I am using the piezo igniter the instant the gas button is pushed. I presume I am getting a good stream of gas as it lights instantly with the butane lighter. However, the manual piezo is slow to light it hence the propane build-up after 10 plus attempts.

I was wondering if there was a way to service the piezo or if it has to be replaced.
