Question on 2005 RW Freedom 2280

I'm getting a Honda eu1000i generator and I'm curious if anyone knows specs on the electric heater unit that comes with the PUP - is this sufficient or did I just shoot myself in the foot?

Let me know soon so I can start applying pressure, please!

Marlty

I don't know the specs on your furnace but it will run on 12V...the generator will supply 120V to recharge the battery through the internal charger in the campers convertor, or power a separate battery charger. On course the generator will supply power to run a few, small 120V appliances.

My feeling would be that it would take a long time to recharge the battery through the campers converter...you'd be better off with a separate battery charger around 10 - 15 amps.

The 1000 should give you 8.5 amps which should run your furnace. I've run circular saws off 1000's and they can handle them.

don't think your pup has an electric heater. nearly all RV's come with only a propane furnace.
the only electric heater would be one you bring from home or a heat strip added to the a/c.

unless you have the Cool Cat but that's the same as running a heat strip. i don't know how much power it takes to run it but i doubt 1000w is enough.

your generator will be fine for recharging the battery but little else.
i always recommend the Honda 2000. double the power to run the microwave or coffeemaker for only a little more than the 1000w.
