Reese 750 WDH Tension Bolt

Hi Folks,

When we bought our new-to-us Flagstaff 425D late last summer, I had the seller include the Reese 750 round bar weight distribution hitch. I noticed this spring that the bolts that hold the brackets securely to the frame are rusty and I want to replace them. I've searched the Interweb for specs on the bolt to no avail. Does anyone have this info handy?

Many thanks,

G.

I would just take the old bolts to HD or Lowes and size them up there using the mounted display nuts and bolts. You can then choose to go stainless or whatever.

If your talking about the Reese Snap Bracket bolts they are standard square head set screw, they are always longer than needed when you replace them measure the length needed for your frame, just a neater look! Fastenal has them in stock! Youroo!!

OK..it turns out that the bolt is a plain 1/2" x 3.5" galvanized, coarse threaded carriage bolt with the rounded head cut off so that it clears the trailer frame.

Would use a hex head bolt as short as possible.

Indeed I looked at hex head bolts, but the threads were not long enough.

When the Ford removed my 5er hitch when I traded trucks I called CW as a 250# install is no longer a physical capability for this old guy. They said I'd need a new bolt kit as they would not re-install used bolts in that application. So ~~ thinking that did not sound correct I emailed the company and was told they strongly suggest new bolts and not the inexpensive imported bolts either. I bought the kit.
