Refliectix: a Must Have!

Took my 228 on a maiden voyage 2 weeks ago. Felt drafty in the bunkend (way more than in a tent with a fly on top) even though it wasn't terribly cold outside. Read about reflectix, put them in before last weekend's trip and wow - what a difference!

I'd estimate that the pup stayed at least 10 degrees warmer than without, and no draft - even though a considerable wind storm popped up just after midnight. I'm sure there was wind coming through and heat leaking out other areas, but the fact is reflectix covered 75% of my bunkend surface area and I'm sure the popup gizmos on top would make it even better.

I've read many threads where people say that reflectix might help, but I'm here to say it will be the best $50 investment you can make. And they really don't take that long to slide in. I just told my guests to look under the bed when they were ready to turn in and slide them in, and I did the same when I went to sleep. Quick, simple and effective!

We did both the Reflectix and bunk end covers on our popup and they do make a difference. When we sold the popup I recut the Reflectix inserts to fit our hybrid windows. I made my our bunk end covers with space blankets.

Is this some sort of rigid insulation? From lows web site it does, but it doesnt say anything about pop ups

It comes in rolls. You simply unroll and cut to fit. I keep it stored under the bed and zip inbetween canvas and screen when needed.

When I had my popup I had them cut for every window. They can really make a difference in the summer time too.

It's not rigid. Think of it as bubble wrap with aluminum foil on both sides. Most home improvement stores sell it to wrap around home water heaters.
