Rockwood 1610 Battery problem?

Hi! I've got a 2004 Rockwood 1610 fold down camper. The battery is one year old. We stored the battery indoors for the winter. Charged it with low (nearly trickle) charge to refresh it, but no output to the camper lights.

I tried putting the charger on the battery once installed - still no output to the lights. However plugging in 110AC power cord makes the lights work instantly. So I'm thinking there must be some other issue besides the battery if the lights don't turn on even with a charger hooked up to the battery.

I checked the fuse box and replaced one blown fuse. Any other ideas to get the camper to run lights from the battery?

Thanks!

Would anyone know of the right person to talk with at Forest River about this problem?
Thanks!

Do you have a battery disconnect! Did you hook the battery cables up to the correct terminal? Double check your reverse polarity fuses.

Do you have a multimeter so you can check the voltages. Is the popup new to you or was it all working before you put it away for the winter?

Hello! I'm not sure about how to use those tips, but will check with a dealer nearby to see if they can help a little too.

It was working fine last year when stored for the winter.

I recharged the battery, but even with the charger on I'm getting no power to the lights inside or outside the popup camper.

Could anyone tell me where to find the reverse polarity fuses?

Thanks!
George

There are normally two fuses that are off to the side. Not in the same row as for the lights etc. They will be higher current like 40 amps.

There's a circuit breaker possibly tripped or bad under the a frame.
Plugged in lights work= good converter.

There may also be a resettable gray or silver fuse/breaker along the A-frame.
Has a tiny black button you push to reset.
Usually trips when the battery wires are reversed during installation.

On my pop up, the stove and sink flip up into place and have to make the proper connection to complete the battery circuit...I have been in a hurry before and didn't get it seated properly...that would be the first thing I would check after the fuses. Then if it is seated properly, make sure the wiring to the connection point is still in tact!

Hi, I checked all the interior fuses and circuit breakers - everything seems fine. Battery connection is correct. Can't find any damaged wires. It's possible that the red switch / button that depresses when the sink goes up is now defective - I tried depressing it by hand and the lights still do not turn on. The only possible exterior fuse I can find is at the very end of a blue wire - I'm not even sure if it is a fuse.

Am I missing something else on this pop up?

The resettable breaker that Turbs is talking about looks something like this.

Follow the wires from the battery and if that trailer has one, it will be underneath the camper near the front.
Push the little button on this side, this is usually the culprit

If you, get to the wires connected to the switch; either from underneath or by pulling the switch out. Then jump them together to see if the lights now work. I have heard, those switches tend to go bad.

Two more great tips! Incredible! Thank you very much. I think I'll be able to check the camper on Monday if not sooner (it's not at our home now). I'll definitely get back to you guys. I so appreciate the help!
