I just picked up HW 277. Same specs, 6 ft high, does NOT include AC. Add another 15".

Exactly. Our HW276 is about 2" too tall to fit in our garage

Have you considered letting the air out of your tires to get it in your garage?

The a/c adds close to a foot above the 6' height that Rockwood lists for the 296. We had to get a low profile unit to get ours into the garage without deflating tires. I did get it in by letting air out once or twice. I think it is 7' 2" opening for my garage.

we have sold our travel trailer so now we have room to store under the shed we bought for the TT, that gives us room to open up at home under cover when we want to, thanks everyone for the info about the height

It's a Dometic Penguin low profile unit. We were concerned that it might not cool as well as the larger stock unit but I would say that it works even better. Ours was installed in Indiana but any of the big camper shops should be able to get it.

We have the HW276 and we store it in the garage. Due to the ac I let air out of the tires to lower it an inch, back it in, then refill the tires with my air compressor.
