Rockwood premier 2514g upgrade/accessory suggestions

Our family just purchased a 2014 Rockwood 2514g, and can not wait for spring to try it out! The camper is outfitted very well, and we are really happy with it. We are looking for input from other 2514g owners about suggested "must have" accessories, tips or tricks about the camper, or just any suggestions you may have to get us ready for the new unit.

We are experienced campers, and have been camping in our current pop up for many years. This is our first new camper, and I figured it wouldn't hurt to pick the brain of others who are more familiar with this unit than we are.

Thanks in advance!

I just bought the same unit as you in November. Only got to use it once before going into the garage for the winter. Found out the new heater works good. Not sure where you are from, but one suggestion is that if you are using the heater, have another heater in there. The heat of course uses a lot of propane and another heather keeps the air warm in between cycles. We did not use any water because it was already winterized when I picked it up.

I bought I BAL leveler and an ADCO cover for mine as I won't have it in the garage in the nice months. I am still trying to decide on the bike rack for it. I am now leaning towards the Pro Rack set up now. I wasn't for that at first as I didn't want to have to remove the front tires, but I think it will be the easiest to load the bikes.

Good luck. We love this camper and the layout is great for us.

Like bigdog has described, used for leveling side to side so you don't have to drive onto stacked wood. Stores nicely in the front storage compartment.

Looks pretty slick! Looks a lot easier than trying to use blocks. Are they heavy duty enough for a 12 foot pop-up?

cousin eddie, these are specifically designed for single axle trailers, including TT's.
so, yes they're fine for any popup.

just Google it and you'll get more info that you can process about them.

you may want to look through popup-specific forums, like Popup Explorer or Popup Portal and do a search, if you want more real world info on them.

Yeah, like bikendan said, popupportal has lots of discussion about them. Some love them some done. I found mine on eBay for a decent deal and it makes leveling a snap. Most places I camp are pretty level, but need some leveling. And it works as a wheel chock.

On another note, you might fine tooth comb your trailer. I found a few spots around my storage bin that had some air pockets in the caulking that water would have gotten in during rain or while driving in rain so I caulked those spots. I also got underneath and caulked around any open spots I found around spots they drilled. I am sure I didn't need to, but plan on keeping this camper for a long time so want to keep chance of water getting in any where.

I use one on 228BH which is a 12 foot with the motorbike rack up front, with no problems. These are especially nice for a single person since you don't have to worry about lining up on the blocks by yourself when backing up.

We use ithe BAL leveler with our 14 foot box high wall camper and love it. We have camped on some unlevel spots too. I sometimes have an issue with getting the BAL around the tire, but a quick lift with a jack works to lift the tire slightly and the bal goes right around it.

The only one that I am aware of is the one that Rockwood sells that zips onto the awning. At least that is what our dealer told us. We were interesting in it until he told us the cost. I think it was going to be like $500 from Rockwood. I haven't tried to look online since then.

I will have to look on ebay. We thought on would be nice to have. It was some ridiculous amount or something like that. The dealer said they have never sold one. All of the Rockwood accessories were expensive. They are probably the same brand as the one you bought too.

You can add on a Cabana awning to your trailer. Look up bannerbreeze on eBay. He has the best prices. You will have to add a rail to the side.
Here's a link to the topic on PopupPortal

One thing I did to our pop up and to our travel trailer is to add deep slide out drawers to the storage under the dinette seats. I didn't like having to stand on my head or lift up the seat cushions to get stuff out of the storage area.
