Shallow water spigot

I'm going back to a local campground this weekend and last time I was there the end of my water hose where I screw it on to the city water spigot wouldn't get a seal. The spigot was too shallow/short for my hose. I had to fill the water tank and use that. Is there anything I can get to help with this? Thank you.

Shallow water spigot

I have tried the bandit-you guys have to help me figure how to use it. Put any water pressure through and it pops off.

The regulator won’t seal either? Valterra A01-1120VP Brass Water Regulator (Carded) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003YJPC2K..._K.30CbYRV9GFS

Another trick I have used is double washers inside the hose female end to fill the gap.

Try wrapping some Teflon tape on the threads.

I carry extra washers, the water bandit, a short 6" hose and several full flow, garden hose inline shut off valves. Some hydrants are just finicky to seal and I'll experiment what device seals best.

BTW... most water bandits come with a stainless steel hose clamp to hold the bandit in place on troublesome spigots.

You could try one of these Kink-Free Hose Savers.

Thank you everyone, I ordered a water bandit, and I'll get some extra clamps

How about using a simple 90 degree water hose connector. About 5 bucks. There all brass and drinking water safe.
