Sink leaks when folded down during storage

Hello fellow campers. I have a 2015 Rockwood 2514g pup. First year with it and about 6 trips under my belt so far.
No complaints yet. However when storing; the sink /stove counter flip upside down and placed closer to the floor for storage. We seem to always find water all over the floor when we open it up for next trip. I usually shut the water off and let the pump run with the sink valves open trying to flush the remaining water out of the hoses. But so far not helping. So now I just place a tarp and bucket catch under the sink during storage in hopes to catch the draining water. Does anyone have this issue or have any suggestions?

I'd bet its water in your drain line that has not fully cleared line. Look for a kink in line or a twist

Noted Randy. I'm taking it out this Friday. Will give the hose line an inspection.

Water draining from the trap? My guess is you have a curvy section of pipe under the sink. This is the trap and keeps odors from coming up from the tanks, if you have them. I cannot remember if our popup had a trap, we did not have a gray tank.

We opened it this time no water at all. I checked the hoses and drain and nothing was kinked or bent. I guess running the sink with the pump on cleared it out pretty good. Thanks.

Okay, I thought that may be an issue. I'll just do it for a minute or two then, after the water is disconnected. Thanks for the warning.

Doc, that's encouraging...but I will try to avoid running it long once water supply is off. I don't want to ruin it. thanks!

Doc73 that might be but I wouldn't test it. Pumps are 100+

@doc73 I know I didn't mean it the way I write it and it wouldn't let me edit or delete it. Sorry didn't mean you were wrong. I'm newer to water pumps in pups and was always told not to run them dry. Sorry again if it sounded like I was saying your wrong

No, no worries. Sometimes we worry to much about stuff (like me), such as running the pump a few seconds dry. I just wanted to say how my screw up seemed to work out so you'd not feel worried about a dry run.

Dutchmen,
With ours (and our previous Coleman), we have problems draining the sink when using the black 3/4 hose adapter as the connector to sewer/blue tank. It drains when it wants to although playing with it sometimes helped. Thought I had it beat on the 25146 but was wrong. Am going back to the 1-1/2 PVC drain pipe I put together for the Coleman.

I still use the 3/4 hose connection, but found that if I unscrew the main dump hole on the grey tank, it seems to relieve the vacuum effect and water then drains more freely.
