I noticed this above the toilet/shower cassette this weekend. Maybe a place to hang clothes etc?

Yep, used for hanging things. We haven't hung anything very heavy. Ours is above our kitchen sink so we hang our hand towels on it.

It's an option. Must be offered in Cali only, like extra vehicle emissions and government over reach.

With mine I have to keep a eye on my wife or she'd hang her whole wardrobe on it!

Well as it is above the toilet/shower, we don't really use it. If we have hookups we bring a tv and a Blu-ray player and set them on the closed lid. We've only done dry camping once but never used the facilities in the trailer.

DW used to hang the roll out toiletries bag on it.
