SPUT ripped my vinyl

Hi folks,

We left the CG after packing up in the rain. So we needed to open it up when we got home. Well, in my haste to get her open again, I rushed and caught the corners of the front bunk on the vinyl, causing a pair almost matching tears.

My fault, I rushed and did things out of order.

Any suggestions on a permanent fix?

Here are a few pictures

Thank you

EternaBond tape on the unseen side.

Be sure to clean the awning real well.

An Auto Upholstery shop might be able to sew a patch on.

I have a couple of those small holes on my trailer, and used clear vinyl patch on both sides and those repairs are over 2.5 years old and still holding. Believe I picked up the patch kids from a sporting goods store.
And it is a lot less expensive then eternabond tape.

Thank you for the replies. I will probably go with a small vinyl patch.

Sail Tape

I have used sail tape available from West Marine. Adheres like crazy and is totally H20 proof.

Funny you should say that. I went to my local west marine and asked for advice. The suggested tear aid. Didn't say anything about sail tape. Either way I am using tear aid with success.

Tear Aid

Just peeked at WM web site and Tear Aid looks to be just what we need for our vinyl on our PUP's. Sounds like it's a bit heavier than sail tape and elastic. Small roll should hopefully last as long as you own your rig. Thanks for the update!
