Suburban Heater
We just finished a week in our PO 2007 Rockwood HW276. I checked all systems and lubed cables etc. prior to our departure, The only system I could not check was the heater as it was in the 90s before we left. Of course we got to Chama Nm and the heater was a no go. Just a click on the thermostat. The gas was running to the range and cook top. I did determine there was gas to the furnance. There is no access on the outside to the heater. Any ideas on where to start? All help appreciated.

Did you check the gfci outlet? If mine has popped nothing works. Fans, fridge, etc

Yes I did check all the GFI outlets. Everything electrical in the trailer works except the fan. Since there seems to be no exterior access to the heater I will have to pull it out the front. BTW I have checked all the fuses and thrown the circuit breakers. There is an on/off switch I can see but is located so far back and in a narrow space I can't reach it, It is currently in the on position. To pull the unit out I will have to disconnect the gas which means I will then not be able to fire it up. I am in far west Texas and am no where near any RV repair. The experts all seem to be here. So what steps should I take now? Think a call to Suburban would do any good?

The furnace is 12v, not 110v.
So gfi outlets have nothing to do with the furnace.
Furnace access is usually in the dinette seat.

On mine, the furnace is on the same 12V circuit as the outside light and the propane detector. So, in my case, if the fuse blows there is no propane detector....

Both those are working just fine. What I don't get is why there is no exterior access to the unit. Like a lot of cars and trucks that are built around the heater cores (lol). I appreciate all the help. I will post when I find the resolution.

Have (or can) you taken a multimeter to see if you're getting 12 volts to the furnace? That would be my first thing to do.
I'd hate for you to pull the furnace out and it be a loose wire in the fuse panel.

The Fix is IN!!!
I hope (lol)....After much checking I had a some advice to take the two leads in the thermostat and cross them. If the the fan comes on you have a bad thermostat. I did and on it came!!! I ordered a new thermostat today ($12.36 from Amazon). After install I will give you all a final update. THANK YOU ALL for your input. I hope this might help another lost soul.

The rest of the story is that I ordered the thermostat for $12.36 off Amazon. I received it and finally got the pup up last night. Had an unseasonable cool overnight here of 45 degrees which was perfect for testing the furnace.A quick install and bingo the heat is on !! Finally. Big Bend here we come. Once thanks again to you all!!
